Investment Management

Institutional discipline, applied to the families who trust us.

Who This Is For

This service is for individuals and families who need more than a model portfolio and a quarterly statement. You have accumulated meaningful wealth, and you want it managed with the same rigor that institutions apply to their endowments — tax-aware, behaviorally disciplined, and integrated with your broader financial plan.

What We Do

Portfolio Construction

Charlotte builds portfolios using an institutional framework — strategic asset allocation, factor diversification, and tax-efficient implementation. Each portfolio is custom-built, not a model template.

Tax-Aware Rebalancing

Rebalancing is not done on a calendar. It is triggered by drift thresholds and executed with tax consequences in mind — harvesting losses, managing gains, and coordinating with your broader tax strategy.

Behavioral Risk Management

The greatest risk to a portfolio is not market volatility — it is the investor's response to it. Richard manages the behavioral dimension of investing: keeping clients aligned with their strategy during periods of uncertainty.

Municipal Bond Strategy

Charlotte's expertise in municipal bonds provides tax-advantaged income for high-net-worth clients. Municipal bond selection, ladder construction, and credit analysis are core competencies.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your investment philosophy?

Long-horizon, tax-aware, and behaviorally disciplined. Charlotte focuses on after-tax returns rather than gross returns, and constructs portfolios that clients can stay committed to through market cycles.

Do you use actively managed funds or index funds?

Both, depending on the asset class and the client's tax situation. In efficient markets, we favor low-cost index exposure. In less efficient markets and municipal bonds, active management adds value.

How do you charge for investment management?

We charge an asset-based advisory fee, disclosed in full in our ADV Part 2. There are no commissions, no product incentives, and no hidden fees. Our interests are aligned with yours.

What is a reasonable expected return?

We do not promise returns. Charlotte models portfolios based on long-term capital market assumptions and stress-tests them against historical drawdowns. Expectations are set honestly and reviewed annually.
